History

1917 VNASI opens under the auspices of the Henry Street Nursing Service.
1929 January 1, VNASI becomes an independent organization providing nursing care to patients in the home setting.
1940's Maternal Child Care Focus.  VNASI staff introduced a childbirth education center. Physical Therapy Services provided.
1966 Medicare came into effect.  VNASI designated a community based Certified Home Health Agency.
1970's VNASI provided more services~Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Nutrition and Social Work.
1982 Long Term Home Health Care Program commenced.
1985 High Tech Program commenced.
1988 Nursing staff consolidated at 399 Lake Avenue, the 3rd location for the Alma Timolat Stanley Headquarters.
1990 Enhancement of Maternal Child Health program.
1991 Enhancement of AIDS and AIDS related care.
1992 75th Anniversary celebrating "75 Years of Caring".
1993 VNASI earns accreditation from Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO).
VNASI earns accreditation from Community Health Accreditation Program of The National League of Nursing (CHAP).
1994 Dedication of Mobile Health Unit, providing community with immunizations and preventive care.
1996 Renewed accreditation from JCAHO and CHAP.
1999 Specialized Wound Care Program initiated.
2000 Renewed accreditation from JCAHO and CHAP.
